GOUT

GOUT.
Gout is not more of what you eat but more of what you cannot get rid of.
Healthcare will always put a blame on red meat, but that’s only half the story.
Gout happens when uric acid builds up in the blood and crystallizes in joints causing inflammation and pain.
That buildup is not just about intake. It’s largely about how well your body can eliminate uric acid through the kidneys(urine).
In simple terms, gout is an exit problem(Compromised kidneys) before it becomes an intake problem.
Now here’s where things get uncomfortable, FRUCTOSE, the “natural sugar” in fruits, honey, sugarcane and many processed foods(high fructose corn syrup), plays a major role.
When you consume high amounts of fructose (especially from juices, sodas, syrups, and fruit), your liver rapidly metabolizes it and produces uric acid as a byproduct.
Fructose also damages the very system responsible for clearing uric acid because it causes insulin resistance which blocks kidneys from performing optimally.
It also promotes fatty liver, disrupting metabolic balance and finally, it leads to higher reabsorption of uric acid in the kidneys, meaning less is excreted. The end result is accumulation.
So you get hit from both sides: More uric acid being produced and less uric acid being eliminated.
That’s why saying “avoid red meat” without addressing sugar is incomplete. Red meat contains purines that are converted to uric acid, but it doesn’t sabotage your excretion pathways the way fructose does.
I want you to try imagine how many people have dropped red meat but still eat fruits calling them immune boosters.
DROP SUGAR.
