Polypharmacy

Polypharmacy is indeed a serious reality in modern medicine.
When someone looks at a table full of medications like this, it tells a story about how disease management often becomes drug stacking instead of root-cause correction.
A patient is given one drug which comes with side effects. Another drug is prescribed to manage those side effects.
Soon, the patient is swallowing five, eight, even ten tablets daily. This is because symptom management often creates new problems.
Take statins, for example. Drugs used to lower cholesterol levels in blood.
They block the liver enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, preventing the liver from making cholesterol. On paper this lowers cholesterol numbers.
But cholesterol is not just a villain. It is a building block of life, so why should we block it’s synthesis? Why is the liver making it if it is to harm us?
Your body needs cholesterol to produce:
- Testosterone
- Estrogen
- Cortisol
- Vitamin D
- Cell membranes
- Brain tissue
- Nerve insulatirs
When you block cholesterol production long term, people begin experiencing:
- Hormonal imbalance
- Low vitamin D
- Memory problems
- Muscle pain and weakness
- Reduced immunity
- Weak bones
Now new drugs are added;Vitamin D supplements, pain medications, hormone therapy, memory drugs, antidepressants, antibiotics etc. The cycle continues. When will we wake up?
You cannot solve kitchen diseases with pills. Most modern lifestyle diseases are born in the kitchen:
- Sugar overload
- Processed foods
- Seed oils
- Sedentary living
- Chronic stress
If the disease started with lifestyle, the real solution must also involve lifestyle correction.
Pills may manage symptoms, but healing often begins when we correct what we eat, how we move, how we sleep, and how we hydrate and live.
The good thing is, you have a choice.
